A Mage's Proposal
Underdark; 130000 ex, Rod of Absorbtion(, Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting scroll, Simulacrum scroll)

  • Buy the Freedom scroll from the Duegar in theUnderdarkand cast it somewhere in the area to release the mage Vithal.
  • Speak to Vithal and he will ask you to retrieve his Book of Rituals from the Svirfneblin.
  • Speak to the innkeeper in the Svirfneblin village to the north and pay him 300 gold for the Book of Rituals.
  • Return to Vithal with the book and follow him to the Earth Elemental portal to the southeast.
  • Defeat the Greater Earth Elemental and then wait for Vithal to return from the Earth plane.
  • Follow Vithal to the Fire Elemental portal, defeat the Greater Fire Elemental, and then wait for him to return again.
  • Finally, follow Vithal to the Air Elemental portal and defeat the Greater Air Elemental. When Vithal returns, he will reward you. You can demand a little more but do not get too greedy.

    Animal Trouble in Trademeet
    Trademeet; 108000 ex., 200 gold, Leadership of Druid Grove (Hero must be a druid)

  • Flydian near the City Gates in Athkatla, will ask your party to help Trademeet with its animal problems.
  • Go to Trademeet and speak to Lord Logan Coprith in the mayor's house. He will tell you more about the animal problem and will ask for your help.
  • Enter the basement of the house and speak to Cernd. He will tell you what he knows and will offer to join your party.
  • Leave town and journey to the Druid Grove.
  • Head north and you will be confronted by a druid named Pauden. He will tell you that a shadow druid named Faldorn has taken over the grove.
  • Make your way through the area to the northwest corner where you will be attacked by Dalok. Defeat him and enter the grove.
  • Approach Faldorn and if you have a druid in your party, you can challenge her. Your druid and Faldorn will fight each other one-to-one without any of your equipment. Use your magic to gain an advantage over the shadow druid.
  • Once Faldorn has been defeated, you can take over the leadership of the grove if you are a level 14 druid. Otherwise, Verthan will assume leadership.
  • Return to Logan Coprith in Trademeet for a 2000 gold reward. He will also ask for your assistance in dealing with the gennies in town.

    Anomen Returns Home After his Sister's Death
    Government District; 10500 - 19000 ex.

  • If you have Anomen in your party, at some time a servant of the Delryn family will appear and tell Anomen that his sister has been murdered.
  • Hurry to the Delryn Estate in the Government District and speak to Anomen's father Lord Cor. He will tell Anomen that his sister was murdered by his rival Saerk Farrahd and will demand that Anomen avenge her death.
  • You now have a difficult choise to make. You can council Anomen to seek justice through the law or to break his vows and take revenge. Neither choise will have great results.
  • If you choose to obey the law, Lord Cor will disown Anomen. Speak to Bylanna in the government building and she will tell that there is nothing that can be done. Athough Saerk will get away with murder, Anomen will have kept true to his vows and your party will gain an additional 7500 experience.
  • If you choose to take revenge, go to the Estate of Saerk Farrahd in the bridge district and go to the second floor. Anomen will murder Saerk's daughter and your party's reputation will drop by two. At the end of the battle, Saerk Farrahd will be dead, but his son Yusef will have gotten away. You will probably have to confont him again in the future. Return to Lord Cor and he will be able to start up his business again and regain his fortune.
  • Ten days later, sir Ryan Trawl will invite Anomen to the High Hall of the Radiant Heart where it will be decided if he is worthy to enter the order.
  • Enter the High Hall of the Radiant Heart in the Temple District. If Anomen took revenge against Saerk, he will be judged unworthy to enter the order and will be banished from the hall. If he went to the authorities instead, he will be welcomed into the order and Anomen will receive 50000 experience. Sir Ryan Trawl will allow Anomen to serve his duty in your party.

    Another Mission for the Temple
    The Slums; 16250 ex, 1000 gold

  • If you have gained the services of Sir Sarle for the Temple of Helm, Guardian Telwyn will ask you to help Dawnbringer Sain in the Temple of Lathander next to the temple of Helm. If you have gained the services of Sir Sarle for the Temple of Lathander, speak to Dawnbringer Sain directly. He will ask you to retrieve the Dawn Ring which was stolen by Talassans. If you gained the services of Sir Sarle for the Temple of Talos, Talon Yarryl will ask you to bring him the Dawn Ring which was stolen for them by a thief.
  • Go to the Slums and speak to the thief Travin near the north end of the area. Threaten him and he will tell you who has the ring.
  • Enter Borninall's house above the Copper Coronet and either swear allegiance to Talos and he will give you the ring or attack him and take the Dawn Ring from his body.
  • Give the Dawn Ring to Dawnbringer Sain in the Temple of Lathander or Talon Yarryl in the Temple of Talos.

    Bring the Poisoned Man to his Friends
    The Docks; 14550 ex, 125 gold

  • In a random encounter between areas, you will come across a band of thugs attacking a man. The thugs will turn and attack you.
  • Once you have defeated the thugs, the poisoned man will ask you to bring him to his friend.
  • Go the docks and bring Renfeld's Body to Rylock in front of the building in the southwest. The man will reward you.

    Captured by Mind Flayers
    Eastern Caverns in Underdark; 285000 ex.

  • Enter the Eastern Caverns in the southeast corner of the Underdark and you will be captured by Mind Flayers and thrown in a cell.
  • After a little while, an ogre will appear and explain the situation to you. He will then lead you to the Gladitorial Fighting Pit and you will have to fight three Umber Hulks.
  • When you are returned to your cell, open the door to the northeast and speak to Simyaz, leader of the Githyanki, who have also been captured by the Mind Flayers.
  • The Githyanki will leave to fight and when they return, Simyaz will ask that you aid them in their plan to escape.
  • After a little while, the ogre will appear again and both you and the Githyanki will appear in the ring together.
  • While the Githyanki are keeping the Mind Flayers at bay, attack the Kuo-Toa and leave out of the door to the east.
  • Go to the east end of the area and click on a blood vat to get some Illithid Serum.
  • Use the Illithid Serum on one of the machines in the southeast corner of the area to free the slaves.
  • Click on the larget machine in the northeast corner of the room four times to get four Control Circlets.
  • Return to the room with the blood vats and use one of the Control Circlets on the Mind Flayer to take control of it.
  • Go to the room to the north and move the Mind Flayer to one of the doors. Both of the doors will open and the Mind Flayer will attack you.
  • The Githyanki will appear and thank you for allowing them to get free. They will leave you behind, however, so you will have to fight your way out yourself.
  • Enter the passage to the west and then go north. Collect Brine Potions from each of the birthing pods. These potions will grant you temporary immunity to the Mind Flayers' psionic attacks.
  • Defeat the Mind Flayers in the west most passage and to the north, you will find another door that can only be opened by a Mind Flayer. Use another Control Circlet to take over another Mind Flayer (if you can't find one, another should appear in the east-most room with the blood vats) and open the door.
  • Behind the next door is the Master Brain. Once you have defeated it you will receive the Elder Brain Blood. There are quite a few valuable gems by the Master Brain's body.
  • Go to the exit and the Slave Leader will thank you again before all the slaves leave through the exit. Follow them out of the Mind Flayer lair.

    Cernd's Child
    Waukeen's Promenade; 20000 ex.

  • When you return to Athkatla from Trademeet with Cernd in your party, you will meet Igarol, Cernd's former neighbour, who will tell Cernd that his wife had a child.
  • Go to the Promenade and enter Cernd's former home marked on your map. A beggar named Catis will tell Cernd that Fennecia, his former servant, might know where his wife is.
  • Speak to Fennecia in her home marked on your map. She will tell Cernd to get out of her house.
  • Reenter Fennecia's home by yourself and speak to her again. She will tell you that Cernd's wife stayed with a noble named Deril and that she died under suspicious circumstances. She will also tell you that Cernd's child is in Deril's home.
  • Enter the Deril Estate in the Government District. After Cernd threatens the servent Glut, Deril will appear. If you advise Cernd to threaten Deril into giving him the child, Deril will give Cernd the child and disappear. Cernd will leave your party to bring the child to the Druid Grove and will ask to meet you there.
  • Go to the Druid Grove where you will find Cernd. He will offer to join your party again.

    Cleric Stronghold
    Temple Distict; 115000 ex., 1000 gold

  • Once you have destroyed the Cult of the Eyeless and if you are a cleric, you will be offered a place in the Temple that asked your aid in the first place. I joined the Temple of Lathander and the rest of the walkthrough for this subquest will reflect this.
  • Speak to Acolyte Lara in the Temple to receive your first duties. You will be asked to listen to the questions of the faithful and give them some advise. Although there are several acceptable answers for these questions, you will receive more experience if you give better advise.
  • The first request will come from a man who has discovered that his wife is cheating on him. Advise him to forgive her and let her go her way and one day later he will return and thank you for your advise. After two more days, Acolyte Lara will return and comment on your work.
  • The second request is from a man named Ti'Vael who killed a man in anger. Tell him to take responsibility for his actions and provide for the dead man's family. He will return two days later and thank your for your advise.
  • A young women who's faith is failing will come to you and ask for you advise. Tell her to take what time she needs.
  • Cotirso, a fellow priest, will confront you, showing resentment because you were promoted before him. Offer to give him your position and Acolyte Lara will return and send Cotirso away.
  • After Cotirso leaves, Acolyte Lara will tell you that house of Talos is planning to attack the Dawnbringer's home. She will ask you to enter the Temple of Talos and kill Weathermistriss Ada to prevent this from hapenning.
  • Enter the Temple of Talos and defeat Weathermistriss Ada in her bed in the room in the south part of the building.
  • Return to Acolyte Lara in the Temple of Lathander to report the success of your grisly task.

    Coran and the Wolfweres
    Forest of Tethir

  • In the northeast part of the Forest of Tethir, Coran will ask you to help him resuce Safana who has been captured by wolfweres.
  • Go to the Wolfwere camp to the east which is marked on your map. You will learn that Safana is in league with Lanfear, the leader of the wolfweres and that she had set a trap for you.
  • Lanfear will kill Safana and then attack Coran and your party. Once the wolfweres have been defeated, Coran will leave to drown his sorrows if he survived the battle.

    Dealing with the Trademeet Gennies
    Trademeet; 161500 ex., 17750 gold, gems and jewellery, Scimitar +2, Rashad's Talon

  • After you solve the animal trouble in Trademeet, Logan Coprith will ask your help in dealing with their gennie problem.
  • Speak to Guildmistriss Busya in the Mayor's house in Trademeet. She will ask you to speak with the Dao just outside the city and either meet their demands or destroy them.
  • Enter the Dao tent in the southeast corner of the area and speak to Khan Zahraa. Either kill him or agree to hunt this rakshasa for him.
  • If you agree to help him, go to the northeast corner of the area, just outside the town gates and speak to Itona, a shadow thief. She believes that the rakshasa has killed Adratha, the potion seller by the Druid Grove, and taken her form.
  • Leave town and go to the Druid Grove area. Enter Adratha's cottage in the northeast corner of the area. Defeat Ihtafeer and take her head.
  • Return to Trademeet and give the head to Khan Zahraa. He will reward you with his sword and he and the other gennies will leave as they promised.
  • Report your success to Guildmistress Busya and Lord Logan Copirth for a substantial reward.

    Find the Boy's Mother Inside the Circus Tent
    The
    Circus tent in the Promenade; 3000 ex

  • The boy Giran outside the circus tent in the Promenade will tell you that his mother entered the tent but has not come back out.
  • Inside the circus tent you will find his mother looking like a spider.
  • Complete the Circus Tent subquest and speak to Giran's mother after the illusions are gone.
  • Leave the tent and speak to Giran again.

    Find the Kidnappers who Buried Tirdir
    Bridge District; 23250 ex

  • Click on the half filled grave in the Graveyard District to free Tirdir, who was buried alive. He will thank you and give you a piece of red cloth that he tore from his kidnappers.
  • Threaten Sethle the grave keeper nearby and he will tell you that his contact can sometimes be found in the Bridge District.
  • By the house at the very south end of the Bridge District you will see Am-Si dressed all in red. Confont him and he will flee into the house.
  • Enter the house after him and Am-Si will be killed by his co-conspirators for his incompetence and will then flee the house. You can catch up to them outside and kill them.
  • Climb to the second floor and free Lady Elgea from her bonds.

    Find Mimic's Blood for Jermien the Cowled Wizard
    Umar Hills; 40500 ex, Ilbratha +1

  • Jermien in Imnesvale in the Umar Hills will ask you to find some Mimic's Blood so he can finish creating his Golem.
  • Enter the cave to the northwest and defeat the Mimic that looks like a chest. Take the Mimic's Blood from the chest.
  • Give the Mimic's Blood to Jermien in his house and he will give you the sword.
  • Once he has activated the Golem it will turn on him. Help him destroy the Golem.
  • Speak to him again after it is dead and he will thank you for your help.

    Find out What Happened to Montaron
    The Docks; 14500 ex.

  • After you have brung the poinsoned man to his friends, Xzar will approach you and ask you to free Montaron from the Harpers.
  • Speak to Rylock, the man you gave the poisoned man to in front of the Harper building in the southwest corner of the Docks District. He will ask you to kill some evil creatures in Prebek's house before he will let you in.
  • Enter Prebek's house near the center of the area and defeat Prebek, Sonasha, and the goblins.
  • Return to Rylock and he will allow you enter the building.
  • Take the Harper Amulet from the desk in one of the rooms on the first floor.
  • Ascend to the second floor. With the Harper Amulet equiped, the Spectral Harpists will not harm your party and will answer some of your question.
  • Enter the room with the aviary in the north end of the floor. Enter the aviary and take the bird who was once Montaron.
  • Leave the harper building and give the bird to Xzar. He will cast a polymorph spell, but the bird will actually be an assassin who will kill Xzar. You have been duped.

    Find Proof of Mae'Var's Treachery
    The Docks; 429500 ex., 10500 gold, Short Sword of Backstabbing

  • Speak to Renal Bloodscalp on the second floor of the Shadow Thief Guildhall by the docks. Agree to help him find proof of Mae'Var's treachery and he will give you a Letter of Transfer.
  • Enter Mae'Var's Guildhall and show the Letter of Transfer to Gorch behind the counter. He will allow to you pass.
  • Go through the door and then down the stairs beside you. Behind a secret door, you will find Mae'Var torturing a thief named Lin. He will give you your first assignment.
  • Enter the Temple of Talos in the Temple District. Pick the lock of the chest in Weathermistriss Ada's chamber and take the Necklace of Talos.
  • Give the Necklace of Talos to Mae'Var in his Guildhall and he will tell you to report to Edwin, his second in command.
  • Climb to the third floor of the building and speak to your old 'friend' Edwin. He will require that you kill a Cowled Wizard named Rayic Gethras for him.
  • Enter Rayic Gethras' house to the west and defeat the wizard on the third floor.
  • Return to Edwin to report your success. Next he will ask you to retrieve some documents from a merchant named Marcus.
  • Enter the Sea Bounty next door and either pay Marcus or theaten him and he will give you Edwin's Documents.
  • Give the documents to Edwin and he will tell you to report to Mae'Var for your final assignment.
  • Return to the cellars of Mae'Var's Guildhall and speak with Mae'Val. He will require that you kill a traitor named Embarl.
  • Enter the second floor of the Sea Bounty and speak to Embarl. He overheard Mae'Var say that he wants to kill Renal Bloodscalp but he has no proof. Ask him to give you his dagger and let him flee.
  • Give the dagger to Mae'Val to prove you killed Embarl.
  • Speak to Edwin again on the third floor and he will reveal that he also wishes to betray Mae'Var. He will give you Mae'Var's strongbox key and will offer to join your party.
  • Go down a floor and use the key to open the stronbox in the north chamber. Take Mae'Var's Letter from inside.
  • Give the letter to Renal Bloodscalp in the Shadow Thief Guildhall. He will thank you for proving Mae'Var's guilt and will ask you to return to Mae'Var and kill him.
  • Return once again to Mae'Var's Guildhall and fight your way through to Mae'var in the cellar. Once you have killed him, return to Renal Bloodscalp for a handsome reward. If you are a thief, he will offer you Mae'Var's former position as head of the thief guild.

    Free Haer'Dalis from Inprisonment by Mekrath
    Mekrath's laboratory; 21250 ex, 1000 gold

  • Go into the basement of the Five Flagons Inn in the Bridge District and watch the pitiful performance of the Sigil troupe. Afterwards, Raelis Shai will ask if there any adventurers who'd be willing to help them.
  • Go backstage and speak to Raelis Shai. Agree to find Haer'Dalis and the gem for her.
  • Enter the sewers from the Temple District. Behind a secret wall in the northwest part of the area you will find an entrance into Mekrath's Laboratory.
  • In one of the rooms, you will find Haer'Dalis, but he is being mind-controlled and claims that Mekrath is his master.
  • Defeat Mekrath to break the spell on Haer'Dalis. Mekrath is a powerful wizard, though, so be very cautious and patient.
  • Once Haer'Dalis is free he will offer to join your party. You can either let him in your party or meet him back at the Five Flagons. Take the Portal Gem from the alter.
  • Return to Raelis Shai in the Five Flagons Inn in the Bridge District with the Portal Gem. She will give you a reward and will reveal who they really are.

    Free Hendak and the Slaves
    Copper Coronet in the
    Slums; 183750 ex, 3900 gold, Bastard Sword +1 +3 vs Shapeshifters, Plate Mail Armor

  • Speak to Lehtinan in the Copper Coronet in the Slums and he will allow you to enter the back rooms of the inn.
  • Defeat the guards in the northeast corner of the inn. Hendak, the slave, will beg you to free him and the other slaves.
  • Go through the arena and kill the Beastmaster in the southeast corner of the Inn. Take the Beastmaster Key from his body.
  • Return to the prison, free the boy and girl in the side cells, and then free Hendak himself in the middle cell. All the gladiators will be free and attack all the guards throughout the inn.
  • Follow Hendak through the inn until he confronts Lehtinan. He will kill Lehtinan and will then ask your party to free more slaves who are being held in another area in the Slums.
  • There is a secret stairwell near the gladiator prison which will lead to the sewers. Pass through the sewers to the Slavers Stockade.
  • When you leave the sewers, you will be confronted by Captain Haegan. Kill him and take his key.
  • Use the key to open the door in the northeast wall, defeat the Trolls, and free the girl.
  • Free two more children in cells to the northwest of the exit from the sewers.
  • Return to Hendak in the Copper Coronet and he will give you a reward from the spoils he found from the slavers.

    Free the Djinn
    Dungeon Area; 15000 ex, Sword of Chaos +2

  • Take the Air Elemental Statue from Irenicus' mistress' chamber in the dungeon area in the 1st chapter.
  • Use the statue to unlock the door to the air elemental realm beyond the duegar in the dungeon area.
  • The genie Malaaq will agree to give you your weapon if you find his lamp and free him.
  • Speak to the captive dryads next to Irenicus' mistress' chamber and they will give you the Genie's Flask.
  • Return to Malaaq with his flask and will give you the Sword of Chaos in return for freeing him.

    Gain the Services of Sir Sarles for the Temple
    Government District 41750 ex, Helm of Glory or Periapt of Life Protection or Ring of Holiness or Armor of Faith +3 or Staff Spear +2

  • After you have destroyed the cult of the eyeless, Guardian Telwyn in the Temple of Helm, Dawnbringer Sain in the Temple of Lathander, or Talon Yarryl in the Temple of Talos will ask you to gain the services of Sir Sarles for the temple.
  • Speak to Sir Sarles in the Jysstev estate in the Government District. He will demand nothing less than 200 pounds of pure illithium.
  • Ask Jerlia the ore merchant on the southwest side of the Promenade for the illithium. Since she does not have enough, pay her 1000 gold to learn her source. Don't bother with the illithium alloy; Sarles would be able to tell the difference.
  • Enter the Copper Coronet in the Slums and speak to Unger Hilldark. He will tell you that his shipment of illithium was stolen by Neb in the Bridge District.
  • Enter the Derelict house on the west side of the Bridge District and kill Neb. Take the Illithium Ore from his body. (BTW, Neb was the child killer that you may have met in the Flaming Fist prison in Baldur's Gate.)
  • Take Neb's Head and give it to Chief Inspector Brega in the Government District for a 2500 gold reward.
  • Give the Illithium Ore to Sir Sarles in the Jysstev estate in the Government District and he will begin work on a piece for the temple.
  • Return to the temple in the Temple District to report your success and you will be rewarded.

    Heeding the Spirit of the Grove
    Druid Grove; 20000 ex, 10000 gold, Cleric's Staff +3, Ring of Protection +2, The Root of the Problem, Golden Lion Figurine

  • After you have solved animal trouble in Trademeet and you are a druid, sleep in the Druid Grove. The Spirit of the Grove will appear and ask you to defeat Nilthiri to restore balance. It will also give you a magic club.
  • You will find Nilthiri just east of the Troll mound. Defeat her and the Spirit of the Grove will reappear and thank you what you have done.
  • Rest in the Grove a couple weeks later and the Spirit of the Grove will appear again. It will ask to rescue Loren, a descendant of Marek who founded the grove.
  • Go to Trademeet and speak to Loren outside the town in the southeast corner.
  • Encourage Loren to challenge the voices in his head and do not leave. Chaos will appear and attack you. Once you have defeated Chaos, the Spirit of the Grove will appear again and thank for your service. It will also give you the Golden Lion Figurine.
  • Once you have reached level 14, a druid will appear and tell you that you must challenge to become a Great Druid.
  • Speak to Master Verthan in the Druid Grove and accept the challenge. Defeat the druid and you will become the Great Druid.

    Helping Irenicus' Captive Dryads
    Windspear Hills; 9750 ex;

  • In the northeast corner of the 1st dungeon level in the 1st chapter, you will find three dryads. They will ask you to free them from Irenicus by taking their acorns to Vaelasa in the Windspear Hills.
  • Defeat Ilyich the dark dwarf in the northwest corner of the area. Take the acorns from his body.
  • When you go to the Windspear Hills at the request of Lord Jierdan, go to the southeast corner and give the acorns to Vaelasa in the Faerie Grove to free the dryads.

    Helping Tiris in Trademeet
    Trademeet; 30000 ex

  • After you have helped Trademeet with its animal trouble and gennie trouble, Jenia will approach your party and ask you to help her son Tiris.
  • Go to Tiris' home in the northwest part of town and speak to Tiris. He will tell you that he and his girlfriend Raissa where attacked by a skinless man and by Rejiek, the murderer you drove out of the Bridge District. He will also tell you that they still have Raissa.
  • Go to the southwest gate where you will meet a man named Darsidian Moor who is hunting the skinless creature. He will invite you to join in attacking them on the east side of town.
  • Go to the walled area on the east side of town where you will meet Darsidian again. He will tell you to quickly kill Rejiek before he regains consiousness.
  • Ask Darsidian Moor where the body of the skinless creature is and he and Rejiek will shed the skins they are wearing and attack you.
  • After you have defeated them, Raissa will wake up and take her skin from Rejiek's body. They turned her into a Skin Dancer like themselves! She will ask your party to find a Restoration scroll so she can be healed.
  • Go to the Temple of Waukeen and buy a Restoration scroll.
  • Return to Raissa and cast the Restoration scroll on her. She will return to normal.
  • Return to Tiris' house and his parents will tell you that Tiris and Raissa have gone off to be married.

    Help Korgan Recover the Book of Kaza
    Southern Dungeons; 23000 ex.

  • Speak to Korgan in the Copper Coronet in the Slums. He will ask you if you want to join him in recovering a tome from a tomb.
  • Go to the Graveyard District and descend to the Lower Tombs. Enter the Southern Tombs through the entrance on the southeast side of the area.
  • At the southern end of the area, you will find the tomb, but it has just recently been looted.
  • Leave the area and visit the Pimlico estate in the Temple District. Inside, you will discover that Pimlico has been killed.
  • Go to the Slums and confront Shagbag and his gang on the roof of the Copper Coronet. You can take the Book of Kaza from Shagbag's body. You can sell this book in any shop for a fair bit of gold.

    Inside the Planar Sphere
    Planar Sphere; 371750 ex

  • Once you have found Valygar, journey with him to the Slums. With Valygar in your party you will be able to enter the Planar Sphere.
  • Once inside the planar sphere, turn left and defeat the Clay Golem. Take the Planar Key and the Golem Arm.
  • Return to the first room and use the Planar Key to initiate plane travel and open the door.
  • In the next room you will meet three Knights of Solamni from Ansalon (check out the Dragonlance series) who will warn you about crazy halflings in the next room.
  • Defeat the halflings to the west and continue through a couple of rooms including the furnace, until you get to the room with the golems and the big gears.
  • Take the Golem Head from the room and return to the Golem chamber. Put the Golem Arm and the Golem Head in the machine.
  • Gather three piles of coal found around the sphere. One can be found on Entu's body, another on the table in the golem creation chamber, and a third in the room with the big gears.
  • Use a piece of Coal in each of the furnaces in the furnace room and defeat the Fire Elementals that appear.
  • Click on the machine again and a Guardian Golem will appear. It will open several doors for you and then attack the Elder Orb on the east side.
  • Enter the Navigator's room and attack Lavok. When he is almost dead, the spirit that was controlling him will be destroyed and he will regain his senses. He will ask you to find the heart of a demon to repower the sphere so that you can all return to the material plane.
  • Leave the Planar sphere through the entrance and you will find yourself in some sort of nether plane.
  • Defeat one of the demons in the area and take its heart.
  • Reenter the sphere and go to the room with the glowing orb in the middle and the four runes on the floor. Touch each of the runes in the following order: top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right, top-left. The door to the power core will open.
  • Climb down the stairs and defeat the Cowled Wizard Tolgerias and the other mage.
  • Continue through to the next area and place the demon heart in one of the mouths in the center of the power core to repower the sphere. It will return the material plane and then fail.
  • Return to Lavok in the Navigator's room on the top level. Once you pick him up, your party will leave the sphere. If you are a mage, Lavok will give the sphere to you.

    Intrigue with Jarlaxle
    Ust Natha; 10000 ex.

  • After you have met with the Matron Mother in Ust Natha, you will meet Visaj who will sell you a Gilded Rope for 1000 gold.
  • Enter Deirex's Tower and the Lich Deirex will cast a spell to imprison you and your party.
  • The Gilded Rope will take you to Jarlaxle and he will ask you to defeat the Lich to save his men. If you refuse he will threaten to reveal your identity.
  • Enter Deirex's Tower again and defeat the Lich. Take the Lich's Tooth from its body to open the chests in the tower.
  • Once you take Deirex's Gem from the container near the back of the tower, you will be teleported back to Jarlaxle. You will discover that the soul gems did not actually contain the souls of Jarlaxle's men and that you were used. You will be teleported back to Ust Natha.

    Investigate and Destroy the Cult of the Eyeless
    Old Tunnels beneath Temple District; 416000 ex, 7000 gold, Saving Grace +3, Ardulia's Fall +1

  • In front of the Temple of Lathander in the Temple District, you will see Gaal who is trying to persuade a small group of people that the gods are not real and that the only true god is the Unseeing Eye.
  • After Gaal's demonstration, either High Watcher Oisig from the Temple of Helm, High Mornmaster Arval from the Temple of Lathander, or Stormherald Nallabir from the Temple of Talos will ask you to visit them in their temple. If you are a cleric, which temple that asks for your help depends on your alignment. Otherwise, the neutral Temple of Helm will wish to hire you.
  • Enter their temple and speak with High Watcher Oisig, High Mornmaster Arval, or Stormherald Nallabir. He will ask you to descend into the sewers to investigate this new cult and to put an end to it.
  • Enter the sewers through one of the entrances in the Temple District and join up with Keldorn in the northwest corner. Continue to the next area to the northwest.
  • Speak to Gaal at the entrance to the Cult of the Unseeing Eye grounds. He will require that you perform a task for the Unseeing Eye before you can enter and will give you a key.
  • Use the key to open the door at the north end of the area, near the entrance from the sewers.
  • A little ways past the door you will meet Sassar, former high priest of the Unseeing Eye. He will ask you to retrieve the piece of the rod from below so that it can be used to destroy the Unseeing Eye.
  • Continue past Sassar to the lower reaches.
  • To the west you will see a bridge in ruin and will need to answer its riddles. Answer 'Life', then 'Time', then 'The current one' to cross.
  • Defeat the Beholder and the Gauths on the other side of the bridge and approach the temple. It is surrouned by pathetic diseased guardians who know not what they guard nor who they serve, only that they are continually reborn to perform their duty.
  • Enter the temple and defeat the Empathic Manifest by casting cure spells on it. The old spirit of the temple will appear and will ask your help in ending his and his followers meaningless existance. He will give you a part of the rift device.
  • Return to Sassar in the upper reaches with the part of the rift device and he will tell you his plan for getting the other part.
  • Enter the cult domain and speak to Tad. Give his the pass phrase 'The Eye is Blind' and he will show the way into the Unseeing Eye's lair.
  • Descend into the pit behind Tad. Go past the Ghoul Town and enter the Pit of the Faithless.
  • Find the other part of the rift device in the southeast corner of the area. Put the assembled rift device into an item quick-slot.
  • When you leave the room, the Unseeing Eye will appear and attack you. Use the rift device on it and then finish it off with your weapons.
  • On the south end of the pit, you will find the exit to the Upper Reaches.
  • Return to the Lower Reaches. The guardians will see that you have returned and all will enter the temple. The old god will appear and he will destroy the rift device. He and his followers will then pass away.
  • Enter the cult domain in the Upper Reaches. All of the followers of the Unseeing Eye will desert Gaal. He will attack your party in anger.
  • Report your success to the temple and you will be rewarded. If you are a cleric, you will be invited into the clergy.

    Investigate the Circus Tent
    Circus Tent in the Promenade; 25000 ex

  • An Amnish Guard outside the Circus tent in the Promenade will warn you that no one who has entered the tent has returned.
  • Enter the circus tent and you will find yourself in a strange area. Answer the Genie's riddle (The Prince will be 30 and the Princess will be 40) for 19500 experience.
  • Inside the tower, an ogre with a soft female voice will explain that everything is an illusion and will ask you to free her from her chains.
  • Defeat the monsters discuised as peasants and give the Ogre's Sword to Aerie. She will return to her true form and you will recieve 18500 experience and she will offer to join your party.
  • Enter the next area and defeat the illusionary Werewolves. Defeat Kalah in the next room and the illusions will fade and you will find yourself back in the Circus tent. The gnome will say a few more pitiful words before expiring.
  • Speak to the guard outside the tent again and he will thank you.

    Investigate the Deaths in the Umar Hills
    Umar Hills; 387250 ex., +1 rep., The Night's Gift +1

  • A child in the Government District named Delon will ask you to help his village where people are disappearing and being turned inside out.
  • Go to the Umar Hills. Just to the west you will see Minister Lloyd trying to calm the people.
  • Speak to Minister Lloyd in his house to the east. He will tell you what has been happening in the village. He will offer some suggestions as to what people think is causing the problem.
  • Go north and speak to Madulf, the leader of the renegade ogres. He claims that his group has nothing to do with the deaths and that even some of his members are missing as well. He will also ask you to bring a proposition to the mayor of Imnesvale. This is a separate quest.
  • West from the village you'll find the ranger's cabin. Inside is Merella's Journal and a note from Mazzy Fentan. Both indicate that the wolves are likely the cause of the problem and show the location of the wolf lair on a map.
  • Leave the area and travel to the Temple Ruins that are now on your map.
  • Go north from the point where you arrive in this area and enter the wolf cave. A werewolf named Anath will tell you that her clan was killed by the Shade Lord and then ressurected as shade wolves to serve it. She will tell you that she seeks vengance against the Shade Lord.
  • In the northeast corner of the area, you'll find the temple ruins guarded by Shade Wolves and Shadows. Anath will be there as well and will tell you to adjust the mirror to brighten the area.
  • Descend into the dungeon. Defeat the Shadow Jailor to the west and take the Shadow Prison Key from its body. Free Mazzy from her jail cell for 12250 experience and she will give you information about the temple and will offer to join your party.
  • To the south is a room with a glowing gem on top of a pillar. When the Shadows enter this room they will be destroyed by the light. Once all the shadows are dead, take the Sun Gem from the pedestal and use it to open the glass door in the hallway by the entrance.
  • Take Amuana's bones from the Shade Wolf room by the entrance to the spirits just south of the lava room. They will be released and the spirit of Amuana will appear. She will give you the Shadow Dragon Wardstone so that you can sneak by the Shadow Dragon and the Dawn's Light Symbol.
  • Continue through the temple ruins until you reach the room with the letters on the floor. To get by, step on the letters spelling Amaunator's name. That is, first step on the 'A' in the bottom right, then step forward, left, forward, forward, forward, left, forward, forward, forward.
  • Defeat the Bone Golem and take the Sun Gem from the statue. Use the Gem to open the next glass door.
  • In the room next to the Statue of Amaunator, you'll find a shadow who will ask you for help. In the corner of this room you will find the Lightstone Symbol.
  • Read the Morn Ritual, Noontide Ritual, and Dusk Ritual found throughout the Temple Ruins to learn the rituals to praise the Sun God Amaunator. Speak to the statue in the north corner of the area and answer his questions about the rituals successfully to pass the test and recieve the Sun Ray Symbol. For each question you are given three choises. The correct responses are 2, 3, 1, 3, 1, 1, 1, 3, 2.
  • Once you have all three symbol pieces, they will merge to form the Symbol of Amaunator. Use this to open the door to the Shade Lord's lair.
  • Climb the stairs behind the door and you will be in the liar of the Shadow Dragon Thaxl'ssillyia. He is very difficult to defeat so don't even try unless you are powerful. If you have the Shadow Dragon Wardstone, you can sneak by without waking him.
  • At the top of the stairs you will meet the Shade Lord by the altar. Defeat the him, the Shade Altar, and the shade Patrick to rid the area of his shadowy evil.
  • Speak to Merella lying where the Shade Lord was. She will thank you for freeing her before she expires.
  • Report you success to Minister Lloyd in Imnesvale to receive a reward. If you are a ranger, he will offer you Merella's cabin.

    Island Concerns: Ginia's Tale
    Brynnlaw; 11000 ex, -200 gold

  • Speak to Ginia on the east side of Brynnlaw and tell her you will help her and her brother.
  • Defeat Chremy near The Vulgar Monkey and then pay 200 gold to Calahan just below to pay for passage for Ginia and her brother to Ulgoth's Beard.
  • Return to Ginia and tell her that she is free.

    Keldorn Wishes to Visit His Wife and Family
    Government District; 15500 ex.

  • If you have Keldorn with you, he will wish to see his family when you enter the Government District.
  • Enter the Firecam Estate in the Government District. Keldorn's wife will reveal that she has had an affair with Sir William of Thorpe. Though Keldorn will want to bring the matter to the courts so that Sir William will hang and his wife will be imprisoned, convince him to speak with Sir William instead.
  • Enter the Mithrest in the Promenade. Sir William will convince Keldorn that he has been a poor husband and father because he never spends any time with his family.
  • Return to the Firecam Estate in the Goverment District so that Keldorn may be reconciled with his wife. He will ask you if he can stay with his family.

    Kill Roger's Sea Troll
    Sewers beneath the Temple District; 9500 ex, 500 gold

  • In the south end of the sewers below the Temple District, you will find Roger the Fence who will ask you to kill a Sea Troll which has been bothering him.
  • Go west a little ways and defeat the Sea Troll in the southwest corner of the sewers. Return to Roger for your reward.

    Locate a Caretaker for the Orphan, Risa
    Graveyard District; 15250 ex.

  • Near the northwest corner of the Graveyard District, you will meet a paladin named Kamir who is mourning the loss of his adopted son whom he failed to protect.
  • A priest named Arenthis in the southeast part of the area will tell you that he is looking for someone to care for an orphan named Risa.
  • Speak to Kamir again and tell him about Risa. He will thank you and leave to find the child.
  • Return to Arenthis and Risa to the southeast. Kamir will take the child with him and Arenthis will thank you for your help.

    Madulf Wants to Make a Deal With the Village
    Umar Hills; 27500 ex., Shield of the Lost +2

  • Madulf, the leader of a gang of monsters, north of Imnnesvale, wants to make peace with the village. He will ask you to bring his proposition to Minister Lloyd.
  • Return south to the village and speak to Minister Lloyd in his house. Give him Madulf's proposal and he will promise to speak to Madulf himself.
  • Speak to Lloyd again later and he will tell you he has agreed to live peacefully with Madulf and his group.
  • Return to Madulf again and he will give you a shield that he doesn't need anymore.

    Mage Stronghold
    Planar Sphere; 52500 ex., Golden Girdle

  • If you are a mage, Lavok will give you his planar sphere after you have finished the Planar Sphere subquest.
  • Enter the sphere and Reyna the Solamnic knight will ask you to return her to her own plane.
  • A cowled wizard named Teos will appear and make you an offer. They will allow you to keep the sphere if you agree to complete some tasks for them.
  • Speak to Ribald in the Adventurer's Mart in the Promenade. Give him 9000 gold and return to your sphere. 24 hours later, Khollynn Paac will appear and send the three knights back to their own plane. Reyna will give you a Golden Girdle in thanks. If the 9000 gold is too much for you, speak to Prelate Wessalen in the Order of the Radiant Heart in the Temple District. He will agree to take the knights into his order. The knights will accept this, though they won't be very happy.
  • In the front room of the sphere, Teos will appear again. He will bring three young apprenti with him which you will be responsible for.
  • For their first task, your apprenti will either make a Dagger +1 for 250 gold, a Wand of the Apprenti for 1000 gold, or a Ring of Protection +1 for 2000 gold. Return in four days and the item will be completed. If you chose the ring, Larz will die creating it.
  • For their next task, your apprenti will either create a Mislead scroll, an Abi Dalzim's Horrid Wilting scroll, or a Meteor Swarm scroll. Nara will die in trying to make the Meteor Swarm scroll. You can pick up the items after four days.
  • For their final task, your apprenti will offer to make a Robe of the Apprenti for 250 gold, a Ring of Wizardry for 3000 gold, or a Staff of Power for 10000 gold. One, two, or all three of your apprenti will die in trying to create these items depending on how difficult the item was that you asked them to make. If you forbid them to make any of these three items, all three mages will survive and their training will be complete.
  • Twenty-four hours after your apprenti have left your service, Teos will reappear and invite you to their graduation in your sphere if any of them survived. If all three of your apprenti survived, they will thank you for your training. Otherwise, they will not have anything pleasant to say.
  • Two days later, Sergeant Natula will appear and tell you to return to the Planar Sphere quickly.
  • When you enter the Planar Sphere, Teos will appear ask you why you summoned him. Sergeant Natula will appear along with several others and ambush you.
  • Once you have defeated all the ambushers, Teos will reappear and ask you to remove Ketlaar Argrim who was behind the attack. He will give you the Rune of Imprisonment.
  • Enter the Crooked Crane by the City Gates and go up to the 2nd floor. Defeat Argrim's bodyguards and use the Rune of Imprisonment on him.
  • Return to Teos to report your success. In return, he will tell what he can about Imoen.
  • Morul will appear and ask to be your apprentice. He will provide you with several potions each week.

    Nalia Abducted by Isaea Roenall
    Government District; 21000 ex.

  • If you have Nalia in your party, she will be approached by a messenger about a week after you have cleared the de'Arnise Keep. She will tell you that she needs to be in the Graveyard Distrct for her father's funeral.
  • Go to the Graveyard Distrct and the messenger will show you to where the funeral is being held. Speak to Isaea Roenal. He will not take well Nalia's cancelation of thier engagement.
  • One day later, Isaea will appear with several Amnish guards and abduct Nalia.
  • Immediately afterward, a man named Khellor Ahmson will approach your party and give you some advise on how to get back at Isaea.
  • Go to the Docks District and speak with Barg near the south end by the Sea Bounty. He is drunk and will tell you about Isaea's involvement in piracy and slavery. He will also mention a contact named Dirth.
  • Enter the Sea Bounty and speak to Officer Dirth who will attack your party. Take Isaea's Slavery Docements from his body.
  • Go the the Government District and enter the Roenal Estate on the north end. Take Isaea's Financial Statements from one of the drawers.
  • Speak to Corgeig Axehand in the Government Building. Tell him of Isaea's involvement in piracy, slave trading, and gem smuggling and show him the two documents you found. He will begin an investigation into Isaea and his affairs. Nalia will be returned to your party.

    Paladin Stronghold Duties
    Temple District; 164500 ex., Carsomyr +5

  • After you have rescued Garren Windspear's daughter, enter the Order of the Radiant Heart building in the Temple District. If you are a paladin, a squire will escort you to Prelate Wessalen who will invite you into the order.
  • Speak to Sir William Reirrac in the center of the building to receive your first assignment. He will ask you to aid an outpost which is under attack.
  • Go to the Umar Hills where Sir Alymar will bring you to the battle. Fight off the orcs, ogre mages, and ettins. Squire Elotte will thank you for helping them if they survive the battle.
  • Report to William Reirrac in the Order of the Radiant Heart building to receive your next assignment. He ll ask you to meet a baron in Imnesvale and seek a resolution to the problem there.
  • Return to the Umar Hills. Crolus will direct you to the Imnesvale Inn.
  • Spek to one of the farmers outside of the inn to hear their side of the story first. They will claim to have been on the land first.
  • Enter the inn and speak with Baron Metrich. It should become clear that he is in the wrong. Side with the farmers and he and his men will attack you.
  • When you leave the inn, the farmers will thank for your support.
  • Return to the Order of the Radiant Heart building to report on the outcome of your task and to receive your next assignment.
  • Go to the Docks District and enter the building next to the temple. Relieve Franco of his duty and begin your task of protecting Tyrianna.
  • Defeat all four of the assissins when they appear.
  • When Hurgis Baltezan appears, cast Detect Evil to learn his true nature. If nothing happens, go upstairs and tell Tyrianna to go downstairs. If he glows red, kill him and tell Tyrianna that you have killed an imposter.
  • Report to Sir William Reirrac in the Order of the Radiant Heart building. If you killed the real Hurgis Baltezan or gave Tyrianna to an imposter, you will be thrown out of the order in disgrace. If you killed the imposter or gave Tyrianna to the real Hurgis Baltezan, you will be rewarded.
  • Sir William will give you your final task to confront Firkraag again, defeat him, and retrieve the Avenger Sword from his grasp.
  • Journey to the Windspear Hills and descend to the lowest level of the ruins where Firkraag resides. Before you confront Firkraag, you may want to prepare for the battle by resting and learning appropriate spells.
  • Enter the cavern and attack challenge Firkraag. See the tips section for tips on how to defeat him. Once Firkraag is dead take Carsomyr +5, The Holy Avenger from his body.
  • Return to Sir William Reirrac with the sword and he will praise you for your accomplishment.

    Put the Spirit of the Child Wellyn to Rest
    Graveyard District; 15500 ex.

  • Enter the Graveyard District at night and the spirit of a child named Wellyn will approach your party at the south end of the area. He will ask for his stuffed bear back.
  • Go to the Slums and enter the Copper Coronet. Ask Lehtinan about his 'other entertainments' and he will allow you to enter the back rooms.
  • In one of the back rooms you will find the thief Llynis. Kill him and take Wellyn's stuffed bear.
  • Return the bear to Wellyn and he will be able to rest.

    Ranger - Protector of the Umar Hills
    Umar Hills 70250 ex., 1000 gold, Moon Dog Figurine

  • In your character is a ranger and you have defeated the Shade Lord, the mayor of Imnesvale will ask you to take over the ranger duties from Merrella who had recently passed away.
  • After a few days, a forest spirit named Mairyn will ask you to stop the humans who are damaging her forest.
  • Return to the Temple Ruins and speak to Lord Igen Tombelthen. Agree to find the mithril cache he is looking for.
  • Just to the east, in the middle of some rock outcroppings you will find a Mithril Medallion and a letter. Take both of them and show them to Lord Igen Tombelthen and he will give you 1000 gold for your efforts.
  • A couple of days later, Delon will find your party and ask you to return to Imnesvale because it is about to be attacked.
  • Return to Imnesvale and speak with Minister Lloyd. He will ask you to destroy the ogrons that are threatening the village.
  • Go to the cave northeast of the town and defeat the Orogs and Orcs standing in front of it. Return to Minister Lloyd and he will thank you for your help.
  • A few days later, Delon will find your party again and tell you Imnesvale needs your help again.
  • Speak to Minister Lloyd in Imnesvale. He will tell you that Umar, or someone claiming to be Umar, has returned and is demanding the villagers to leave.
  • Go to the Temple Ruins area and in the northeast corner you will meet Mairyn again who will ask you to defeat the sorceress.
  • Enter the dungeon where you will be attacked by many undead. Defeat Umar in the crystal room near the west side of the dungeon.
  • Leave the dungeon and Mairyn, the forest spirit, will reward you with the Moon Dog Figurine.

    Rescue Gerran's Child from Firkraag
    Windspear Hills; 255250 ex.

  • Lord Jierdan in the Copper Coronet will offer you 10000 gold for your service in defeating a band of Ogres and Trolls that have been plaguing his hold.
  • Journey to the Windspear hills on the far east side of your map. You will immediately be set upon by a band of ogres.
  • Once you have defeated the ogres, you will discover the bodies of knights. You have been tricked by an illusion! Garren Windspear will appear and offer you sanctuary in his home.
  • Enter Gerran's house and he will offer to go to the Knights of the Radiant Heart and explain to them the situation in an attempt to redeem you and your party. His daughter Iltha will try to encourage you.
  • When you awake from your rest, you will be attacked by bandits who will kidnap Altha. After you defeat the bandits, Garren Windspear will return but he will believe that his daughter's lose was not your fault. He will tell you that your name has been cleared with the paladans and you will vow to rescue his daughter.
  • Enter the dungeon in the northeast corner of the area. Fight the hobgoblins and other monsters and enter the second area.
  • Near the center of the second area, you will meet Samia. She will ask your party to enter King Strohm's tomb and fetch some books for her, but when you leave she and her party will attack you. If you refuse to help her, she will attack you anyway.
  • In the hallway behind Samia, you will have to fight a Greater Werewolf. It regenerates extremely quickly. To kill it, you need a couple critical hits in a row.
  • Continue through the area and to the northwest you will find Chieftain DigDag and Tazak who apparently has risen from the dead (You defeated him when you defeated Saravok in Baldur's Gate).
  • Speak to Iltha in the cell. She will tell you that the mage who locked her up had the key for her cell.
  • Enter the cavern and will find Firkraag, a red dragon. He will explain why he has done the things he did and will allow you to take Gerran's child back if you can catch Conster who will disappear through a Dimension Door.
  • Return to the previous area and fight Conster. Take the key from his body and free Iltha.
  • Return to Gerran Windspear in his cabin and he will thank you for saving his daughter.
  • If you are a paladin, you can become a member of the Order of the Radiant Heart in the Temple District in Athkatla.

    Rescue Raelis and Haer'Dalis from the Planar Prison
    Planar Prison; 288750 ex.

  • After you have freed Haer'Dalis and given the Portal Gem to Raelis, she will ask you to guard them as they open a planar portal to leave the Material Plane.
  • Defeat the four monsters that appear from the portal. Bounty hunters will come through the portal and take Raelis and the others with them.
  • Step through the portal to follow the bounty hunters to the planar prison. Bounty hunters will attack you on the other side of the portal.
  • After the battle, the escaped prisoner will tell you about the prison and will tell you a plan to free yourself and your friends.
  • Go east and avoid the portal in the center of the hallway. Continue until you reach the Master of Thralls and kill it. Take the Mastery Orb from its body.
  • Throw the Mastery Orb into the brazier near the entrance to destroy it and free all the thralls.
  • Quickly return to the entrance and then go north to aid the thralls in defeating the Warden. The markings on the floor will no longer teleport you to prisons. Take the Planar Prison Cell Key from the Warden's body.
  • Go west and you will find Raelis and Haer'Dalis. They will thank you for freeing them and you will return to the material plane. Hear'Dalis will ask to join your party.

    Restore Kangaxx's Body
    Docks District

  • Enter the building between the Sea Bounty and Mae'Var's Guildhall in the Docks District.
  • Descend the stairs and click on the sarcophagus. Kangaxx will ask you to retrieve his body parts so that he may be free from his eternal imprisonment.
  • Go to the Temple District and descend into the sewers.
  • Go to the Old Tunnels in the northwest corner and click on the sarcophagus in the north corner. Once you have defeated the lich, click on the sarcophagus once again to retrieve the Golden Arm and Leg. You will need to do the Cult of the Eyeless subquest first.
  • You can find the Golden Torso in the building south of Delosar's Inn in the Bridge District guarded by another lich.
  • Return to Kangaxx in the Docks District with the body parts and he be freed. He will try to kill you for your effort. Defeat him and you will receive the Ring of Gaxx, a very powerful ring.

    Riddle of the Imps
    City-of-Caverns; 111000 ex., Boots of Etherealness, Cloak of Protection +2

  • In the southwest corner of the City-of-Caverns, two imps will promise to open a chest with drow treasure if you agree to play their game.
  • To solve their riddle, talk to all five of the people to get their items. Put the items in the chests behind the people starting from Elminster going clockwise to Drizzt in this order: Pipe, Staff, Pendant, Helmet, Scimitar.
  • The Imps will open the chest for you and foil the spectre inside. You can now take the treasures from the chest.

    Ruling the de'Arnise Keep and Lands
    de'Arnise Keep; 46000 ex., 500 gold per week

  • After you have cleared the de'Arnise Keep of enemies, Nalia will ask you to become lord of the keep if you are a fighter.
  • The major domo on the 1st floor of the Keep will explain your role to you and what is required of you. Speak to him at any time to see how your people are doing and to collect a special tax if you need money. Check the book shelf in the library on the 2nd floor to collect your weekly 500 gold.
  • Return to the major domo a week later and he will tell you that a merchant is demanding to see you. Tolmas Bendelia has had his caravans attacked by bandits and demands that you recompensate him for it or he will forclose on every farmhold in your land that he holds the debts for. To please your people the most, either pay him 500 gold for his losses or buy your peoples' debts for 1000 gold. Also, pay 500 gold to hire mercenaries to take care of the bandits right away.
  • A week later, Captain Cernick will wish to speak to you about a thief. Listen to Lastin's side of the story. Pay the 500 gold for the medicines he requires to cure his wife and warn him not to steal again.
  • A few days later, a cleric will wish to see you. Allow Bolumir to be a chaplain in the chapel in your keep and the people will be very pleased.

    Running the Five Flagons Playhouse
    Bridge District; 82250 ex.

  • After you have rescued Raelis Shai and her troupe in the Planar Prison, she will give you the deed to the Five Flagons Playhouse if you are a bard.
  • When you return to the material plane, Samuel Thunderburp will appear, looking for the cause of the disturbance. Once you show him the deed for the Playhouse, he will go back upstairs to send a director to you.
  • Higgold will offer to run the daily affairs of your playhouse for you. He will leave in search of actors and a play.
  • Several days later, an errand boy name Meck will tell you that Higgold wishes to speak with you.
  • Return to your playhouse and speak with Higgold. You will have to decide which actress will play the lead female role and how much money you wish to spend on the play.
  • Every few days, Higgold will summon you to solve another problem.
  • Eventually, it will be opening night. Your lead actor will become very ill and Higgold will ask you to play his part. If you refuse to and don't put on the play, your reputation will be ruined and you will have to close down the playhouse. When you play the part, try to remember the lines from the rehersal.
  • After the show, Higgold will offer to buy the playhouse. You can either sell it for 10000 gold or you can keep it and receive a regular income of several hundred gold a week.

    Save Jaheira from Baron Ployer's Curse
    The Slums; 52750 ex.

  • When you enter the Sea Bounty by the Docks, Baron Ployer, a former slaver, will confront Jaheira and three mages will appear and cast a curse on her.
  • Speak to Bernard in the Copper Coronet in the Slums. He will tell Jaheira that Ployer killed Belgrade, a fellow Harper.
  • Enter the government building in the Government District and ask Corneil about Baron Ployer or the mages. He will not be very helpful.
  • Speak to Terrece who will be standing just outside the building. He will offer to stay out of the coming fight for 1000 gold or for 2000 gold he will agree to kill Ployer.
  • Enter Baron Ployer's home in the northeast side of the Slums. If you paid Terrece 2000 gold to kill Ployer, he will appear and do the deed. If you paid him 1000 gold to stay out of it, you can either kill Ployer by himself, or you can force him to remove Jaheira's curse. Jaheira will not honor the deal, however, and will kill Ployer. If you didn't give Terrece anything, you will have to fight Baron Ployer and his three hired mages.
  • Take the Lock of Jaheira's hair from Ployer's body and Jaheira will feel better. The curse will go away after 24 hours.

    Save Mazzy's Sister, Pala
    Trademeet; 31750 ex.

  • If you have Mazzy in your party, then at some time Danno will appear and plead Mazzy to return to Trademeet to help her sister who has been poisoned.
  • Go to Trademeet and enter the Fentan home. You will be told that Pala had drunken a 'love potion' sold by Wallace.
  • Go to the Market Square in Trademeet and confront Wallace. He will tell you that he got the potion from a young cleric named Borl.
  • Enter the temple of Waukeen and speak your concerns about Borl to Overgold Renwellyn. After he investigates his room, he will summon Borl and confront him with what he found. Borl will attack your group.
  • After the battle, Mazzy will find a potion on Borl's body and you will all return to the Fentan home. Mazzy will use the potion on her sister and Pala will be cured.

    Seek Out and Investigate the Fallen Paladins
    Bridge District 122500, Gloves of Healing

  • Sir Ryan Trawl in the High Hall of the Radiant Heart in the Temple District will ask you to investigate a group of fallen paladins lead by Anarg.
  • In the east corner of the Bridge District, you will a group of the fallen paladins, lead by Reynald de Chatillon, fighting a group of smuglers.
  • Aid the fallen paladins against the smuglers. Reynald will thank you will ask you to retrieve Anarg's Cup from the High Hall of the Radiant Heart.
  • Return to the High Hall of the Radiant Heart in the Temple District and convince Sir Ryan Trawl that you need Anarg's Cup to gain Anarg's trust. He will give you the cup reluctantly and will ask that you return it when you are done.
  • Return to Reynold with the cup and he will summon Anarg. Anarg will know that you are lying and will attack. Defeat him and the other fallen paladins.
  • Speak with Sir Ryan Trawl in the High Hall once more to return the cup and report your success. He will give you some magic gloves as a reward.

    Solve the Riddle of the Sewers
    Sewers beneath the Slums; 108000 ex., Lilarcor

  • Enter the Sewers beneath the Slums through a secret door by the gladiator prison in the Copper Coronet in the Slums. When you enter the room with the drain pipes on the east side, a voice will tell you to break the wards in the right order to receive a magical sword.
  • Click on each of the drain pipes in the room to receive hints for the four different keys you must find.
  • Stick your hands into the grating in the northwest corner of the sewers to find a Hand.
  • Take the Lover's Ring off the hand of one of the skeletons near the center of the area.
  • Defeat the Kobold Shaman near the center of the sewers and take the Shaman's Staff.
  • Go to the southern corner of the area and kill Quallo's friend Carrion Crawler. Take the blood from the body.
  • Speak to Quallo and he will give you some hints about the order the wards must be used to free the sword.
  • Return to the drain room with the four items and click on the drains in the following order: 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 4th. The magical sword Lilarcor will appear.

    Solve the 'skinner' Murders in the Bridge District
    Bridge District; 68250 ex, 500 gold

  • Lieutenant Aegisfield in the north end of the Bridge District will tell your party about a murderer who skins him victims.
  • Speak to Rose Bouquet next to the Five Flagons Inn and ask her what she knows about the murders. She will tell you that she smelled Guril berries or something like that.
  • Ask the merchant Bel Dalemark nearby what smells like Guril berries and he will give you samples of three things that smells like that: Guril berries, Solik berries, and Oak Bark.
  • Show these three items to Rose and she will identy the Oak Bark as the correct smell. Bel Dalemark has told you that Oak Bark is used by the tanner.
  • Speak to Rampah, the beggar, northwest of the Five Flagons Inn. Pay him some money to buy the Exotic Hide that he found by the murder victim.
  • Show the Exotic Hide to Bel Dalemark and he will tell you to ask Rejiek the tanner about it.
  • From the Five Flagons Inn, go down to the docks and follow the path to Rejiek the tanner's house.
  • With both the hide and the smell pointing to Rejiek, he will admit his guilt flee downstairs. You wil recieve 23250 experience.
  • Follow him to the next level and you will find lots of bodies. Beware of traps! You will also find a shirt made of human flesh and a letter from Rejiek's master.
  • On the next level, a mage named Vellin Dahn will flee with Rejiek and you will have to fight some enemies.
  • Report your finding to Aegisfield at the north end of the Bridge District to receive a 500 gold reward and 45000 experience.

    Summoned to the Harper Hold
    The Docks District

  • After you have fought the bandits in the Forest of Tethir, a harper named Meronia will appear and ask Jaheira to come with her if Jaheira is in your party.
  • After you have rested, Jaheira will reappear and ask you to go with her to the Harper Hold.
  • Go to the The Docks District and enter the Harper building, the one in the southwest corner.
  • You will be questioned by Galvarey and no matter how you answer, he will judge you to be unsafe to the balance and will plan to imprison you. Jaheira will be discusted and will offer to help you fight them.

    Svirfneblin Son Missing
    Underdark; 10000 ex, Bracers of Defense AC 4

  • Therndle Daglefodd in the Svirfneblin village in the Underdark will tell you that his son is missing.
  • Go to the soul entrapment crystal near the center of the area and turn the second facet from the right to free Bedlen Daglefodd.
  • Return to Therndle Daglefodd in the village and he will reward you.

    The de'Arnise Keep has been Invaded
    de'Arnise Hold; 293500 experience, 10000 gold, Leadership of Fighter Hold (Hero must be a fighter)

  • Nalia in the Copper Coronet in the Slums will ask for your help in fighting off monsters that have attack her home. She can either join your party or meet you at the keep.
  • Jouney to the keep and if you don't have Nalia with you, you can meet her in a palisade to the west. She will tell you of a secret entrance into the hold.
  • Just north of the palasade there is a secret entrance into the keep.
  • Once you are inside you will be in the armory. Take all the fire arrows there and use them to finish off any trolls you fight.
  • The stableboy Daleson will tell you more about the current situation.
  • Enter the courtyard through the doors at the front of the area and defeat the Otyugh. Climb up onto the wall and lower the drawbridge so that the de'Arnise guards can get in.
  • Kill the four dogs and take the Dog Meat. Enter the keep again and use the four pieces of Dog Meat on the range in the kitchen to make Dog Stew.
  • Climb the stairs in the east side of the area to the second floor.
  • Defeat the Yuan-ti mage in the library and take the Keep Key from the shelf. This will allow you access to more of the keep.
  • Free Lady Delcia, Nalia's aunt, in her room on the west side of the second floor. Through a couple of secret doors starting from her room, you will find stairs to the dungeon.
  • Have a thief take the Dog Stew and sneak past the Umber Hulks. Go to the cell to the far west side of the area and put the Dog Stew down next to the Dog Bones. This will draw the Umber Hulks to this cell. Return to the central room using the lower hallway to avoid the Umber Hulks.
  • Fight TorGal, the leader of the trolls, in the chapel on the east side of the dungeon. You will see Nalia's father's body on the floor.
  • If you can find all three flail heads, you can assembe the Flail of Ages +3 using the magic forge in the back of the 1st floor of de'Arnise Keep for 22350 experience.
  • Return to Nalia in the palisade outside the keep and tell her of TorGal's demise and her father's death. She will offer to make you the new lord of the keep if you are a fighter.

    The Dueling Families of Trademeet
    Trademeet; 8000 ex., 250 gold

  • After you have helped Trademeet with its animal trouble and gennie trouble, High Merchant Logan Coprith will hold a reward ceremony for you. After the ceremony, both Lord Skarmaen Alibakkar and Lady Lilith Lurraxol will ask you to meet them later to perform a task for them.
  • Both Skarmaen and Lilith want the Mantle of Waukeen from the tomb to prove that their family was the founding family of Trademeet. Speak to either of them in their estate and agree to retrieve the mantle to receive the Trademeet Tomb Key.
  • When you open the door to the tomb, Logan Coprith will appear and ask you to give the mantle to him to avoid bloodshed between the two families.
  • Enter the tomb, defeat the skeletons there, and take the mantle from the remains of one of the Skeleton Warriors.
  • If you give the mantle to either Skarmaen or Lilith, the other will appear and they will both attack you for it. Instead, give it to Logan in the Mayer's House so that the fued may be ended.

    The Hunt for Valygar Corthala
    Umar Hills; 9500 ex. OR 11250 ex., -1 rep., and Ring of the Ram

  • Tolgerias in the government building in the Government District will ask you to find Valygar Corthala and return him to him dead or alive.
  • Go to Valygar's house by the Docks. His servant will tell you that he has fled the Cowled Wizards.
  • In the top floor of the house, you will find a note that indicates that Valygar has a cabin in the Umar Hills.
  • Travel to the Umar Hills and confront Valygar in his cabin in the northwest corner of the area.
  • You can either void your agreement with the Cowled Wizards and agree to enter the planar sphere with Valygar for 9500 experience, or you can kill him and bring his body back to Tolgerias in the Government District for more experience and a reward. If you choose the latter, however, your reputation will drop one point.

    Thieves' Guild Stronghold
    Docks District; Various amounts of gold every 5 days

  • If you are a thief, Renal Bloodscalp will offer you Mae'Var's Guildhall after you have proved his treachery.
  • Enter the Guildhall at the south end of the Docks District and Jariel will speak to you. You have five other thieves under you who each control a different aspect of your guild. Through Jariel you can control how agressive each group will be for the next 5 days. If they are not agressive enough, you will not earn very much money. If they are too agressive, they risk being imprisoned and you have to pay a fine to free them. At the end of the five days, Jariel will tell you the result of their thieving and you can choose to change their thieving patterns.
  • Every five days, the quotamaster from Renal Bloodscalp will appear and demand his quota. If you cannot pay it, your branch will be closed down.
  • Speak to Lathan next to Jariel. When you are done speaking, a thief guild leader named Ama will appear and demand your aid in removing a pest. If you freed Kamuzu from Mae'Var's prison he will warn you not to trust Ama.
  • Go to Waukeen's Promenade at night and you will meet Ama. Speak to Ama a couple of times and Sir Greshal will appear and you will be caught in the middle of an ambush.
  • Once you have defeated Ama and the other assassins, return to Lathan in your guildhall and he will apologize for his mistake.
  • Lathan will tell you about a problem Kretor is having with his thieves. Apparantly one of them is stealing money from the guild and the other won't reveal who is doing it. Tell Lathan to dock all of their pay and after five days he will report that the thief responsible for skimming the money has been killed and everything will back to normal. If you make any other choice, Kretor will quit and you will lose that branch of your guild.
