Area 1: Nelwyn and Dew

Enter the hut on the first screen to say good-bye to your family. Revisit them any time to restore you HPs.
Speak to the High Aldwin in the hut just east of your family's hut. He will restore your magic and give you the Magic Acorns.
Recieve the Long Sword from Vohnkar in the northwest corner of the village.
Go north from Nelwyn to the village of Dew. Your hit points and magic will be restored in you visit the old man in the southeast corner of the village.
Speak to the man in the southwest corner of the village to receive the Wood Shield.
Speak to the village chief in the northeast part of the village. He will tell you about Bogarda and will give you the Healmace.
Go north from the village into the forest then go to the far west to find the Gold Statue.
Show the Gold Statue to the skeleton blocking the entrance to the cave north of the forest and he will let you enter.
In the cave you will find the Battle Sword and a Ring that will increases your strength.
Defeat Bogarda to destroy the curse. He will give you the magic of Flowing Fire.
Return to Dew and go west to leave the village.
Keep going west to find the Small Shield in a cave.
Return east, then go south, then west and you will eventually meet Kchil of the Nail Clan by a bridge. Once you have defeated Bogarda, you will be able to cross the bridge.

Area 2: Death Forest

Just past the bridge you will meet Franjean and Rool of the Brownies Clan. They will tell you how to find Cherlindrea and Lake Cheef.
Visit the old woman to the north and your hit points and magic will be restored. She will ask you to find her pet Po and will give you the Medicinal Herbs.
To get through Death Forest, keep going east, then north, then a long ways west.
When you get to the mountains, go north and one area west and then enter the cave.
Take the Gold Shield in the southwest corner and the Flame Sword near the center of the cave.
South from the Flame Sword, you will find the Dragon Scale.
Enter the passageway in the northeast to find Po. He will give you Magic Ocarina which will allow you to call him at any time.
In the far southeast you will find an old, tired dragon. He will give you the Thieves Bracelet if you leave him alone.
Return to the entrance of the cave, and a passageway to the exit will appear.

Area 3: Lake Cheef

Once you leave the cave you will meet Cherlindrea in Lake Cheef. She will give you the Magic Cane.
Go north into the forest. Eventually you will come across a chest containing the Devil's Eye. This weapon will allow you to defeat spirit enemies.
Just north you will find Madmartigan who will ask you to find the key to free him.
Enter the forest to the west and find the Key at the far end.
Return to Madmartigan and free him with the Key. He will thank you by giving you his Necklace.
Go north, then west to the Tavern of the Traveler. You will hear about a ghost guarding a treasure to the north. Madmartigan will appear and tell you that you need a Wakka Seed to cross the lake.
Go back into the forest where you found Madmartigan and go east several screens. Go south for a while and you will eventually find Kchil of the Nail Clan who will give you a Wakka Seed.
Use the Magic Ocarina and ask Po to take you to Dew. Give the old man the Dragon's Scale and he will make the Dragon Sword and Shield.
Use the Magic Ocarina to return to the Tavern of the Traveler and continue east.
Enter the lake and continue north. The Wakka Seed will allow you to breathe underwater.

Area 4: Northwest Islands

Fin Raziel is in the cave on the other side of the lake. You will not be able to restore her to her normal form until you reach level 13.
Go north and pass through the cave to the island. Pick up the magic of Fleet along the way.
Go west and then north and enter the cave there.
Turn right at the fork and proceed to the end. Go through the next passageway and when you leave the cave you will see Zhena. She will ask you to help her look for her lover and will give you her Flute.
Cross the bridge and enter the cave. Inside this cave you will find the Metal Shield and the magics of Renew and Terstorm.
Return to the fork in the second cave and go north two rooms.
Once you defeat the monster, Muzh will return to his normal self. Zhena's flute will start playing and she will appear. The two lovers will disappear and leave you with the magic of Bombard.
Leave the cave through the exit that appears and go northeast through the mountains.
At the end of the trail you will meet Alora Danan and her mother. Her mother will ask you to call down the spirits from the sky.
Enter the east tower and climb to the top. The Spirit of the Skies will give you the Blue Crystal.
Climb back down the tower and then climb up the west tower. The Spirit of the Earth will give you the Red Crystal.
Return to Alora Danan and her mother to receive the Crest of the Spirits.

Area 5: Northern Mountains

Go back through the caves on the islands to return to the mainland by Fin Raziel's cave and go northeast into the mountains.
Make sure you find the Spector spell in the mountains. You will need it later.
Go southeast to find the house of an old woman who will teach you the spell of Thunder. You will be able to restore your hit points and magic here.
Find the Healball spell just to the north. The chest will block your way into Nockmaar.
The Tail Shield can be found northeast of the old woman's house.
South from the Tail Shield and east from the old woman's house you will enter an area with mouths in the ground that attack you when you walk over them. Cast Spector to turn into a monster and you will be able to pass over the mouths unharmed.
Pass through the cave to get across the river.
Keep following the trail and eventually you will reach a cursed bridge and you won't be able to cross.
Enter the cave and receive the Wing Sword from Adik of the Wing Clan.
Speak to an old woman in the cave who will tell you about the cursed bridge.
Backtrack through the mountains to the previous cave. Speak to the man in the cave and he will give you the Witch's Shoes.
Return to the cursed bridge and walk across it to Tir Asleen.

Area 6: Tir Asleen

A man in the northwest corner of Tir Asleen will allow to rest in his house to restore your hit points and magic.
Go north to the castle. You won't be able to enter yet.
Go east and then north. At the end of the trail you will meet an old woman who will tell you she is waiting for the hero to go to Nockmaar and defeat Bavmorda.
Return to the castle and you will be able to enter.
Climb to the second floor and find the Wonder Sword and the Battle Shield.
Return to the first floor and speak to Airk in the southwest corner. He will give you his Kaiser Sword.
Defeat Edorsisk and enter the door. It will be a trap and General Kael will take away the Crest.
Speak to Madmartigan in the cell and he will tell you about a secret passage that leads to Nockmaar.
After a little while, Franjean and Rool will appear. They will show you a secret passage and will give you the Dust of Unrequited Love.
Enter the passage and make your way out of the castle.
Enter the cave southeast of the castle. This is a long cave that will take you to Nockmaar. You will find a Fury Shield along the way.

Area 7: Nockmaar

Go northeast through the mountains to reach Nockmaar. Cast Spector to turn into a monster and scare the guard away. You will now be able to enter the castle.
Meet Abang of the Wing Clan in the southwest corner of the first floor. He will power up the Wing Sword and will tell you that you need a key to continue.
Fight the enemies in the castle to raise your level. Once you reach level 13, Use the Ocarina (outside the castle) to summon Po. Return to Fin Raziel and restore her to her human form. She will then power up your Magic Cane so that you will be able to defeat Bavmorda.
Fly to Tir Asleen and visit the old woman southwest of the castle. She will give you the Nockmaar key.
Fly back to Nockmaar. You can now unlock the doors in the castle and proceed to the upper floors.
On the third floor you will find Sorsha and Madmartigan. When you throw the Dust of Unrequited love at Sorsha, she will dodge it and it will land on Madmartigan. He will convince Sorsha to help you.
Behind the door you will be confronted by General Kael who tells you that he has already given the crest to Bavmorda.
After you have defeated Kael, climb up to the top of the castle and fight Bavmorda. Use the Magic Cane to hurt her. You will need to have at least 216 magic to defeat her if you never miss (level 13). You will then receive the Crest of the Spirits. Fight her again with your sword to finish her off. The Spirit of the Skies will then take her back up to into the sky.
