Grass Valley

Trial Room

After the Master has finished speaking to you, step on the blue tile on your left to go to the Trial Room.

Open the treasure chest to receive the Sword of Life.

Defeat all four enemies that appear from the monster lair and then step on the lair and a man will appear.

Speak to the man and he will give you the Flame Ball Magic and will join you so that you can cast magic. A glowing blue orb will now circle you.

Step on the blue tile to return to the Grass Valley Shrine.

Underground Castle

Step on the bottom blue tile in the Grass Valley Shrine to go to Grass Valley.

Enter the Underground Castle through an entrance near the bottom-left corner of the valley.

Defeat the enemies from the first monster lair and then step on the lair and a passage will open up.

Free the old woman being held by the monsters in the next monster lair. Return to her in the village at any time to restore your HPs.

After you have defeated the monsters in the third monster lair, you will find a Medical Herb in the treasure chest. This item will automatically restore all your HPs in your life meter reaches 0.

Defeat the monsters in the fourth monster lair and some steps that lead to the jewel will appear. Speak to the spirit in the jewel and she will give you some advice and experience points. Speak to her at any time and she can send you back to Grass Valley.

The tool shop owner held by the monsters in the sixth monster lair will give you a another Medical Herb whenever you use one.

Contine through the area and destroy all but one of the monster lairs. Make sure you get the Dream Rod from the flying enemies. You can not get to the last lair until the elevator is working again.

Return to the village and speak to the man in the water mill on the other side of the bridge. Turn the wheel to transfer power to the elevator in the underground castle.

Climb down the ivy south of the water mill and inside the cave you will find GEMs, experience, and the Iron Armor.

Return to the Underground Castle and use the elevator in the bottom-right corner of the area to reach the last monster lair and the next area.

Once you have destroyed all but three of the monster lairs in the next area, return to Grass Valley.

Enter Lisa's house on the east side of the village and use the Dream Rod to enter her dream. Step on the monster lair and then speak to Lisa. She will wake up and tell you to retrieve her father's brush for her and she will tell you her story.

Return to the area in Lisa's Dream in the east side of the Underground Palace. Take Leo's Brush from the chest.

Speak to Lisa again and she will tell you about her father, Dr. Leo, and will ask you to find him for her.

Leo's Painting

Enter the house on the top of the hill in the northeast corner of the village and approach the painting while equiped with Leo's Brush. You will be pulled into the painting.

Destroy all the monster lairs in the first area and proceed to the second area.

In the second area of Leo's Painting, you will not be able hurt the metal enemy with your current sword. Destroy all the other enemy lairs.

Destroy the first monster lair in the fourth area and a blue tile will appear which will teleport you to the Grass Valley Shrine where you can save your game.

In the next area you will have to fight the boss of the area. Lead the enemy to one of the sides and then attack him from the middle bridge. When he gets close to you, leave the bridge and return to one of the sides to lead him away again.

Once you have defeated the enemy, step on its lair to free the village Chief.

Return to the village and speak to the Chief. He will give you the Brown Stone.

Go to the Grass Valley Shrine and the Master will tell you that you need to collect all six stones to open the gate to the World of Evil.

GreenWood

Water Shrine

Move to the GreenWood area by selecting the 'Move' option when talking to the Master in the shrine.

Enter Lostside, the marsh, on the east side of GreenWood. Defeat the monsters to make your way into the Water Shrine.

Destroy two of the monster lairs on the first floor. You will free a squirrel who says he will trade you a sword for some food.

On the second floor, you can destroy all but one of the monster lairs.

Descend to the third floor and to the south, you will find some Delicious Seeds.

Destroy the rest of monster lairs on this level and find another set of stairs which will take you back up to the second level.

Destroy the last remaining monster lair on the second floor and take the stairs up to the first level. Once you destroy the last remaining monster lair on this floor, a bridge will appear which you can take to get back to the entrance of the Water Shrine.

Return to the village of GreenWood. A mole in one of the mole holes will join you. He will provide light in dark areas (which you'll need for the last shrine).

Give the Delicious Seeds to the hungry squirrel in his tree and he will give you the Psycho Sword.

Fire Shrine

Return to the Water Shrine and go out through the exit in the back to return to the marsh.

Destroy the monster lair to the east to reveal a teleport to the GreenWood shrine.

Continue through the marsh to the Fire Shrine.

On the first level of the Fire Shrine, you will encounter some metal crab-like enemies that you can not destroy. Once you destroy one of the monster lairs, the stairs to the second level will appear.

On the second level, you can destroy all but two of the monster lairs, again, the stairs to the next level will appear after you have destroyed one of the monster lairs.

On the lowest level, walk across the red glowing bridges, when they become gray and are cool.

Destroy the monster lair in the bottom-left corner to free a spirit in a jewel. She will give you the Light Arrow magic.

Clear all the monster lairs on the bottom level except for the one for the metal crabs.

Take the stairs near the northwest corner of the area back up to the first floor.

Defeat the fire enemies to make a bridge appear that will lead back to the entrance of the Fire Shrine.

Go down the stairs in the northeast corner of the top floor and defeat the floating skulls to release a squirrel.

Light Shrine

Return to the village of GreenWood and use the Dream Rod on the sleeping bird in the graveyard. Step on the switch and then speak to Turbo. Speak to the bird again and it will wake up.

Enter the right-most mole hole and step on the bones to find the Leaves of GreenWood.

Enter the second mole hole from the right and go through the passage. Use the dream rod on the tree stump and step on the switch to the right. Speak to the bird to leave the dream.

Go through the new area that has opened up at the north end of the village to find the Ice Armor.

Return to the Fire Shrine in the marsh and go out through the back exit.

If you have the Leaves of Greenwood, the rafts will allow you to use them to get to the Light Shrine.

As you destroy monster lairs on the first floor of the Light Shrine, many of the lasers will be removed so that you can reach new areas. You can destroy all the monster lairs but one, since you cannot hurt the flaming balls yet. Destroy the floating heads in the southwest corner to get to the stairs to the next level.

The second floor will be covered in darkness and you'll only be able to see if the soul who provides light in the darkness has joined you.

On the south side of the level, you will find a teleport to the GreenWood shrine where you can save your game.

Return to the village from the shrine and speak to Monmo near the northeast corner of area who will ask you to lead her to her hole. Lead Monmo to the hole next to a rock and speak to her again. She will thank you and promise you a gift for your help.

Enter Monmo's hole and take the mole's ribbon from the chest.

Enter the second mole hole from the right and give the Mole's Ribbon to the mole there. The mole behind him will give you the Shield Bracelet.

Speak to the deer on an island near the southwest corner of the village and if you free the crocodile for that island, the deer will ask you to follow him. The deer will shake one of the trees and a jewel will fall. The spirit in the jewel will ask you to find all eight of the master emblems.

Speak to one of the squirels in the tree on the right side of the village and he will give you Emblem C.

Return to the second level of the Light Shrine and fight the three statues in the back room to free the Guardian of GreenWood. Make sure you are equiped with the Shield Amulet and hit them as much as you can.

Go back to the village of GreenWood and speak to the Guardian. He will give you the green stone.

St Elles

Southerta

Enter St. Elles and speak to the statue to the north. You will be told that you need the Bubble Armor to breathe under water.

Return to the St. Elles Shrine and step on the left teleport to go to the island of Southerta.

Destroy all the monster lairs on the island but one. Some lairs will open passageways so that you can reach other parts of the island.

Return to St. Elles and speak to the mermaid to the south. She will give you the Bubble Armor which will allow you to breath underwater.

Leave the building and reenter it from the east side and take the Mermaid's Tears from the chest.

Leave St. Elles through the south building to enter the seabed.

Climb back out of the seabed through the passage just to the west to return to Southerta.

Destroy the last monster lair to free one of the mermaid statues.

Return to St. Elles and speak to the statue you freed. She will open up a passage in the seabed.

Rockbird

Go back to the sea bed and go southeast to the spot where the statue opened a passage. From there, contine to the east side of the seabed to get to Rockbird.

A lair of eagle monsters in the northwest corner will hold a jewel. Speak to the spirit in the jewel to receive some experience.

Many of the monster lairs will dry up one or more of the ponds when you destroy them and more monster lairs will be revealed.

Destroy the monster lairs in the center lake to free another mermaid's statue and an anglefish.

Return to the Seabed Palace and speak to the statue to open up a passage in the seabed.

Speak to the angelfish on the east side of the area and he will protect you from magma.

Durean

Return to the sea bed and go to the southwest corner where the passageway was opened for you. Continue to the northwest to get to the volcanic island of Durean.

Defeat the enemies in the first monster lair on Durean to free Lue. He still needs to be freed from the queen's imprisonment, however.

Circle around the volcano and destroy all the monster lairs you find. Once you destroy the eagle enemies' lair, a stairway to the next level of the volcano will appear.

Circle around the next level of the volcano clockwise. You cannot defeat the metal apes. Any monster lairs that are surrounded by lava you can avoid for now. On the east side of the level you will find the Critical Sword.

Climb to the top of the volcano and use the Mermaid's Tears to stop it and cool down the lava.

Go to the monster lairs that were surrounded by lava that you skipped before. From one of them you will free another mermaid statue.

Return to St. Elles and speak to the statue. She will open up a passage to the island of Blester.

Stand on the nose of the dolphin in the southwest corner of St. Elles and he will take you to the chest containing the Big Pearl. Stand on the dolphin's nose again to return.

Enter the southern building from the west side and the mermaid will give you the Magic Flair.

Blester

Speak to the mermaid just west of the center of St. Elles and she will move away so that you can free Lue. Enter the secret cave she was guarding and speak to Lue. He will give you the Thunder Bracelet.

Return to the seabed and go to the northeast corner to the passageway which has opened up.

In the next seabed area, enter the current in the north and quickly leave it again when you get to the next open section to find another monster lair.

Continue through the seabed until you reach Blester.

Destroy all the monster lairs on Blester. To defeat the metal apes, equip the Thunder Ring and touch one of the golden monuments when an ape is nearby and it will be destroyed by lighting.

Once you have defeated the metal apes, you will free the final mermaid statue.

Speak to the spirit in the jewel on the east side to return to St. Elles.

Speak to the mermaid statue and she will open up the last passageway.

Speak to the mermaid in the northeast corner of St. Elles whenever you need another Medical Herb.

Use the Dream Rod on the sleeping dolphin in the Secret Cave. Show him the Big Pearl and he will move. Step on the flashing tile to open up a passage in the coral reef.

Ghost Ship

Go back to the seabed and enter the passage to the west to get to the second seabed area.

Go east in the second seabed area to find the Power Bracelet.

Destroy the electric eel lair so that you can get to the west side of the area which is where you were in the dolphin's dream. Enter the secret cave, destroy the monster lair, and open all the treasure chests. You will find Emblem D in one of the chests.

Return to the seabed and destroy the last enemy lair to the north to find a teleport to the St. Elles Shrine.

Go north and climb up onto the Ghost Ship.

Make your way to the front of the ship and fight the giant skull. Destroy the skeletal hands that come for you and attack the skull quickly when it moves forward. Quickly retreat from the skull before it moves back to avoid getting hit. Equip the Power Bracelet to cause more damage. You will free the Queen once you have defeated the enemy.

Speak to the Queen in the palace and she will give you the Blue Stone.

Mountain of Souls

The Mountain

Go to the Soul's shrine and to the Soul of Mountain House. From there, start climbing up the mountain.

Clear all the monster lairs on the north slope and proceed to Aurora's Ridge.

Run away from the snowballs and they will chase you. Lead them so that they hit a rock and break up.

From one of the monster lairs you will find four treasure chests. The Magic Armor is in one of the chests.

Destroy all the monster lairs on Aurora's Ridge and enter the cave at the top.

When you step on the ice, you will not be able control where you are going and will keep moving forward until you hit a wall or rock. Follow the ice river until you hit a rock on the east side of the area. Move up, right, down, then left to get off the ice.

Defeat all the monsters in the center of the top of the mountain to free a boy and a jewel. Speak to the spirit in the jewel to return to the village.

Speak to the boy you just freed to receive the Mushroom Shoes.

Return to the top of Snow Mountain and put on the Mushroom Shoes so that you can walk on the ice. Destroy the monster lair in the northwest to release Grandma.

Continue to the southwest corner, destroy the last monster lair, and go down the stairs to the ice hill.

Destroy all the monster lairs on the ice hill and descend the stairs to the Ice Field of Laynole in the southeast corner of the area.

There are several invisible bridges which will occasionally flash. Use one to get to the treasure chest at the north end of the area which contains the Lucky Blade.

You will be able to destroy all but three of the monster lairs in this area. Step on the teleporter to the shrine on the west side of the area and return to the village.

Lake Lune

On the east side of the village you will find a stairs which will take you back to the Ice field of Laynole. Destroy the last three monster lairs and you will find Rotator magic in a chest in the northeast corner.

Go down the stairs in the southeast corner of the Ice field to enter the Passage to Lune.

Clear all the monster lairs and continue to the underground Lake Lune.

You can destroy all the monster lairs except for one. Return to the village through the teleporter to the shrine found in the northwest corner.

Use the dream rod to enter the dream of the mushroom sleeping in the left-most prison cell. Step on the tile and then walk away to leave the dream.

Return to the location of the mushroom's dream at Lake Lune and go to where the mushroom was standing to find Master's Emblem F.

Defeat the bats that you can now reach to release a snail.

Go back to the village and walk into the wall on the left side of the middle lamp on the wall just below the teleporter from the Shrine. The snail you just freed will give you Master's Emblem E.

Return to Lake Lune once again and fight Posiedon. Stand infront of where Poseidon is about to appear and move to the opposite side to his trident to avoid the flames he shoots from his trident. Hit him right in the center of his chest and then move to the center to dodge the two fireballs that he shoots at you. Continue fighting him is this pattern to defeat him. Free the king of the Mountain of Souls.

Speak to the king in the village. He will promise to give you the magic Phoenix if you find all three Red-Hot symbols.

Talk to Nome the snail in the prison and he will give you the Silver Stone.

Dr. Leo's Laboratory

Basement

Go to Dr. Leo's Laboratory and speak to the door. He will advise you to find the Zantetsu Sword and will open for you.

Descend to the basement and defeat the first monster lair. Go right and defeat the monsters there to free a great door.

Return to the main floor of the laboratory and go through the door you just freed. Take the Zantetsu Sword from the chest. This sword will allow you to defeat metal enemies.

Destroy all the monster lairs in the first basement level and descend to the second basement level using the stairs in the northeast corner.

Reequip your old Ice Armor to walk across the lava fields in the second basement area.

Clear all the monsters in the second basement area and return to the main floor.

Climb up the steps you released and use the Dream Rod on the cat to see Dr. Leo's abduction. The cat will wake up and give you the Door Key.

Go back down the stairs and use the door key to open the locked door. Take the Mystic Armor from the drawers. Push left against the drawers for a little while to find the Master's Emblem G.

Town Models

Climb to the second floor and touch the model to be absorbed into it.

Keep destroying monster lairs until you free a door. Speak to the door you just freed who will ask to join you. He will allow you to see invisible enemies in the models.

Return to the model and you will now be able to see the enemies which were invisible. Clear out all the remaining monster lairs and leave the model.

Touch the second model to be swallowed inside.

Destroy all the enemy lairs inside the second model and then leave.

Speak to the plant in the room above you to receive Actinidia Leaves.

Equip the leaves and speak to the two cats in the large room on the main floor. Lead them out of the room and they will stay in the hallway.

Enter the room again and speak to the mouse. He will thank you and invite you into the mouse hole.

One of the mice in the hole will give you the magic of Spark Bomb in appreciation.

If you leave the mice's home through the second hole, you will be able to pick a Medical Herb from the plant.

Power Plant

Take the stairs by the entrance to the laboratory to enter the Power Plant.

Defeat the first enemy lair and you will be able to take the Light Armor from the chest.

Destroy all the enemy lairs in the Power Plant and use the teleporter to the shrine to save your game.

Go north from the last enemy lair and then west to find the Tin Doll. Hit the robot a few times and then keep moving in a large circle around the area to avoid the missiles. You may be able to hit it a few more times while the missiles are falling. Once you have beaten him, you will free Marie.

Speak to Marie in the attic and she will give you the Purple Stone.

Magridd Castle

Basement

Go to Magridd Castle and take the stairs down into the Torture Chamber.

Defeat the skeleton in the northeast corner of the Torture Chamber and then take the Spirit Sword from the chest. This sword will allow you to hurt spirit enemies.

Step on the bones next to the chest to find the Harp String.

Clear out the remaining enemy lairs and descend into the basement.

Destroy all but one of the monster lairs and leave the basement.

Use the Dream Rod on the sleeping soldier on the west side of the town to enter his dream. When he wakes up, he will give you the Elemental Mail.

Return to the basement and enter the second basement area. Destroy all the monster lairs here and then return to the town.

Left Tower

Give the Harp String to the singer in the building in the southwest corner of the castle and he will start to play. A soldier will move up to the front row to hear him. Go to the spot where the soldier was standing to find the Platinum Card.

Show the Platinum card to the soldier guarding the left tower and he will allow you to pass.

Destroy all the monster lairs on the first floor of the tower and the return to the town.

Speak to the soldier in the building next to the dormitory and he will join you. You will now be able to see invisible passageways in the castle.

Go back to the first basement area beneath the Torture Chamber and you will now be able to see the hidden passageway to the final enemy lair as well as hidden treasure chests.

In the northwest corner of the second basement area, you will find a chest containing the Master's Emblem B.

Return to the Left Tower and climb to the second floor. Once you have destroyed the first two monster lairs, you will be able to get to the two remaining ones through hidden passageways.

The top floor of the tower is a prison. Destroy all the monster lairs to free Dr. Leo.

Right Tower

Speak to the Queen on the east side of the castle. Tell her she is pretty and she will give you the VIP Card.

Show the VIP card to the soldier guarding the right tower and he will allow you to pass.

Destroy all the monster lairs and then ascend the hidden stairs in the northeast corner of the center room.

Clear all the monster lairs on the next two floors and ascend to the corridor to the dock.

Destroy the enemy lair in this area and you will be able to return to the shrine to save your game.

Continue west to the dock and speak to Dr. Leo. Queen Magridd will appear with soldiers and kill the two soldiers with Dr. Leo. She will bring Lisa and threaten Dr. Leo. Go up behind him and he will give you the Mobile key. Dr. Leo will then sacrifice himself to kill Queen Magridd and the soldiers. Approch Dr. Leo to hear his dying words.

Step into the Airship and start it up with the Mobile Key.

Stand in the middle of the airship against the wall and dodge the enemy's fire attacks. Swing at the enemy with your sword when it swoops at you. Once you have killed the enemy, you will free King Magridd.

Approach the control mechanism of the airship again to drive it back to the dock. Lisa will speak with you there.

Speak to King Magridd in the castle and he will give you the Black Stone.

Between the castle and the river, just right of the throne room entrance, you will find Master's Emblem H.

Go to where the Queen was standing in the building on the east side of town to find the Super Bracelet.

World of Evil

Preparation

Return to the Grass Valley Shrine and enter Leo's Painting.

Destroy the last three lairs for the metal monsters using the Zantetsu Sword. You will find the magic Tornado from one of the lairs.

Go to the Grass Valley village and climb the ivy you just released near the southeast corner of the area. You will find the Master's Emblem A there.

Push the tulip nearby and underneath you will find the Pass.

Show the Pass to the boy guarding the cave and he will allow you enter the tunnel.

Speak to the spirit of the jewel at the other end of the cave and she will give you the Recovery Sword.

Return to GreenWood and destroy the metal enemies in the Fire Shrine with the Zantetsu Sword and the fireball enemies in the Light Shrine with the Spirit Sword. You will find Flame Pillar when you defeat the fireballs on the first level of the Light Shrine.

Approach the bird you released on the lowest level of the Light Shrine from behind and it will give you the Red-Hot Mirror.

Speak to the spirit in the jewel in GreenWood and she will give you the Magic Bell if you have all eight Master's Emblems. If you are missing any, check the items section to find their locations.

Return to the volcanic island of Durean and defeat the Metal Apes. The mermaid you released will give you the Red-Hot Stick.

World of Evil

Go to the World of Evil Shrine. The six stones will be absorbed into the Aurora and the gate to the World of Evil will open.

Destroy all the monster lairs in the first area of the World of Evil. You made need to use magic to destroy the last enemy lair after which a teleporter will appear.

Continue to the second area and destroy all the enemy lairs in the area. Take the Soul Armor from the chest on the east side.

Continue to the third area and destroy the enemy lairs there as well. You will find the Soul Blade in a chest in the southeast corner of the area.

Once you have defeate the final monster lair, you will find a teleporter back to the World of Evil Shrine.

From the Shrine, step on the teleporter on the left side and take the Red-Hot Ball from the Chest.

Give the three Red-Hot items to the King of the Mountain of Souls and he will summon the phoenix for you.

Return to the World of Evil and enter Deathtoll's Shrine which has just appeared in the third area of the World of Evil.

Make sure you have equiped the Soul Blade, the Soul Armor, Phoenix Magic, and the Super Bracelet. At the end of the Shrine you will find Deathtoll.

Just attack his first form as much as possible. Eventually he will be defeated and will change to his true form. Evade his laser attacks and destroy the blue flame pillars. Once all four pillars are gone, attack Deathtoll's face slightly off-center to avoid the flames he shoots at you. Eventually he will be defeated and the World of Evil will disappear.
