Walkthrough

Redmond Barrens

• You begin your investigation of your brother's death at Stoker's Coffin Motel in the Redmond Barrens, the location of his last Credstick transaction. The manager will not let you have your brother's stuff until you give him 250 nuyen. He will suggest you speak to Gunderson in the Jump House for some work.
• Leave the hotel and head northwest to the Jump House. Speak to Gunderson in one of the booths and he will explain what shadowrunning is. You can earn money by doing random quests for him, usually involving courier or escort duty. Don't agree to do the ghoul hunting quest yet, since the ghouls are a little bit too difficult to fight this early in the game.
• Once you've earned 250 nuyen, return to the Motel and give the manager the money. Among your brother's belongings you will find a letter, an Allegience Alpha cyberdeck, a wristband, two holopix, and 500 nuyen.

Seattle

• Dr. Haversheen, the person on one of the holopix, can be found in Seattle General Hospital in the southeast corner of Downtown Seattle. She will be unable to help you in your investigation, however.
• Take a taxi to the Puyallup Barrens and enter the Tarislar City Inn in the northeast corner of the area. Speak to Tabatha Shade and she will tell you some things about your brother's last shadowrun. After you finish talking with her, Tabitha will be killed by gunfire and a figure in red and black will run off. On Tabatha's body you will find a holopix.
• Return to the Redmond Barrens and enter the Greenhouse at the north end of the area. Give Boris Errascoe 500 nuyen for information. He will tell you that your brother had come by to get some equipment and that a Renraku man named Mako Sochou came looking for him. After he has finished talking to you, a Renraku team will attack you. You probably won't be able to defeat them. Borris can also tell you where to find Owlfeather.
• Enter the Icarus Descending on the east side of Downtown Seattle. You will be allowed in now. Speak to Caleb Brightmore in the booth at the back and he will tell you about your brother's run. He will tell you that he got his orders from someone named Frosty and will suggest you seek her out in the Puyallup Barrens.
• Go back to the Tarislar City Inn and ask for Frosty. The hotel owner will tell you that Frosty is a member of the Sinsearach Elves.

David Owlfeather

• You now need to get to the AmerIndian Lands. There are several ways you can get there. You can buy a passport from the Passport Lodge on Council Island for 500 nuyen. They will do a police check, so you will need to have a clear record. You can also buy a forged passport for 1000 nuyen from Boris in the Greenhouse in the Redmond Barrens. With a passport, you can take a taxi to Salish-Shidhe. You can also buy passage to Salish-Shidhe from Sharkey for 3000 nuyen.
• Follow the path southeast to the Salish-Shidhe village. In the largest building, you will find Owlfeather. Ask him about your brother to learn what little he knows. He will promise to give you name of someone who can help you if you track down his brother Aragorn.
• Return to the city and speak to Boris in the Greenhouse in the Redmond Barrens about Owlfeather, if you haven't already done so. He will tell you that Aragorn had talked about talking a run from a local "Johnson" and hadn't been seen since.
• Ask the various "Johnsons" around the city about Aragorn. Mortimer Reed in the Big Rhino in the Penumbra District will tell you that he had been incarcirated by Mitsuhama. He will also tell you that Mako Sachou spends a lot of time in Club Penumbra.
• Sneak into Mitsuhama, just north of the Big Rhino. In the northeast corner of the floor, you will find an elevator that can take you to the other floors. Near the center of the fifth floor you will find Aragorn who will run off as soon as you free him.
• Return to Owlfeather in the Salish-Shidhe village. After seeing his brother returned safely, he will tell you where to find his elder, Spirit Eyes.

The Ritual

• Go to Council Island and enter the Medicine Lodge in the northeast corner of the area. Ask to speak with their "most wise one" and you will be let out a side entrance.
• Speak to Spirit Eyes and he will agree to help you find those responsible for your brother's murder. He will ask you to find a Gargoyle Horn as the first item in a ritual he needs to perform.
• You can find Gargoyles in the caves in the Salish-Shidhe wilderness or in abandoned warehouses. Defeat one and take its horn back to Spirit Eyes.
• The next item Spirit Eyes needs is the pelt of a hellhound. They can be found in the caves in the Salish-Shidhe wilderness as well or randomly encountered in the city. Return to Spirit Eyes with a pelt.
• The last item you need to find is the living scale of a Feathered Serpent. Go to Sinsearach either by getting a passport, taking a cab to Salish-Shidhe, and then walking through the wilderness and caves, or by getting a ride there directly from Sharkey for 5000 nuyen.
• Enter the cave southeast of the village. Go south and then keep going west until you come across a Renraku strike team. After you have defeated them, continue west and you will find a feathered dragon. After you help it defeat the Renraku men, he will give you one of his scales.
• Return to Spirit Eyes on Council Island. You can get out of the wilderness quickly by speaking to the man at the gate of Sinsearach who will offer you a lift for 1000 nuyen. With the three items you retrieved, Spirit Eyes will begin the ritual. It will reveal that the name of your enemy is Thon.

The Sinsearach Elves

• Travel to Sinsearach village. You can get there by getting a passport, taking a cab to Salish-Shidhe, and then walking through the wilderness and caves, or you can get a ride there directly from Sharkey for 5000 nuyen.
• Ask to speak to the Tribal Elders. They will agree to talk to you about Frosty if you prove yourself worthy by completing their ritual.
• The first part of the ritual is the Trial of Friendship. They will give you a package to take to Red Buffalo Woman in Salish-Shidhe. She will give you a gift in return to bring to Lady Gillian, the head of the tribal elders.
• Return to Sinsearach for the Trial of Fellowship. You will be asked to find Ilene Two Fists and return her to the village.
• Return to the city and ask Caleb Brightmore in the Icarus Descending in Downtown Seattle about Ilene Two Fists. He will tell you that she is being held in Hollywood Correctional.
• Go to Hollywood Correctional in the Redmond Barrens. To get in you can either fight your way through the guards or you can buy access from Henry J. Culver, Sergeant Chillicut, or Sergeant Macklemann. Ilene is being held in the cell in the northwest corner of the building. The cell is locked by a level 5 Maglock. Either pick the lock or use a level 5 Maglock Passkey to open the cell.
• After you have freed Ilene, speak to her in the Jump House if you want her to join your party.
• Return again to the Tribal Elders for the third trial, the Trial of Faithfulness. You merely have to promise to aid, defend, and respect the people and land of Sinsearach.
• Once you have completed all three trials, you will be an honorary member of the Sinsearach. Lady Gillian will then take you to Frosty who will tell you what she knows and then suggest you speak to her master Harlequin.
• Go to the Puyallup Barrens and enter the Tarlisar Garden Apartments. You will be taken to Harlequin who will explain what Thon is and why your brother was murdered. He will suggest you learn more about Renraku's involvement.

Renraku

• Once you have increased your reputation to at least four, enter Club Penumbra in the Penumbra District where you will find Mako Sochou. A Renraku strike team will burst in on you before you have a chance to talk. After you have defeated them, he will tell you what he knows about your brother's murder and "Operation Thon" and the new project director Ito Ogami.
• The owner of the Gates Undersound hotel in Downtown Seattle will tell you that Ito Ogami just left for the Matchstick nightclub.
• Enter the Matchstick in Dowtown Seattle and defeat Ito and his thugs. You will discover some useful information and will find Ito's passcode. You can use this to hack into his system to find more information, but this isn't neccessary to complete the game.
• Go to the Renraku Arcology and enter the Renraku building at the top of the escalator.
• Head down the hall to the elevators and enter the elevator on the left. Take it up to the sixth floor.
• In the safe in the northwest corner of the sixth floor you will find the Map Overlay. The alarm will be triggered and you will have to fight your way back out of the building.

Vigore

• Return to Harlequin in the Tarlisar Garden Apartments in the Puyallup Barrens. He will urge you to find Vigore who is the only one who can lead you to Thon.
• Speak to the local Johnsons to find out where Vigore is hiding. Mr. Gunderson in the Jump House in the Redmond Barrens will direct you to the Rat's Nest.
• Enter the Rat's Nest in the southwest corner of the Redmond Barrens. Although Vigore is no longer there, you will find the Landmark Map.
• Bring the Landmark Map to Harlequin. He will tell you to prepare a team for the final assult against Thon.

Ellisia's Tomb

• Return to Harlequin when you are prepared for the final battle. Make sure you have lots of extra clips for your guns and Medkits. Harlequin will fly you to Ellisia's Tomb.
• Inside the tomb you have to fight your way past many of Thon's thugs.
• When you reach Thon, first take out his two body guards, then focus all of your attacks on him. Use your Medkits whenever you are weak.
• After you have fought Thon for a while, Licourtrix, the Feathered Serpent you saved earlier, will appear and weaken Thon and will give you some instructions about how to finish him off. You will all flee the tomb, and Joshua will destroy the entrance just as Thon is trying to escape. Thon will be destroyed and peace will return to Seattle.

Side Quest: Chernobyl

• In the datastores of the various corps of Seattle, you find parts of a special Matrix passcode "CHERNOBYL". They are found in the following locations:
  • Ares, Confidential Data
  • Aztechnology, Confidential Data
  • Fuchi, Security Files
  • Mitsuhama, Confidential Data
  • Renraku, Confidential Data
• Once you have read the files from all five datastores, you'll be able to enter the UCAS Fed. Gov. matrix by selecting the "CHERNOBYL" passcode.
• Read from the System Files datastore to find and delete the virus, as well as add 50000 nuyen to your account.
